World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims

This Sunday, 17 November 2024, we will observe the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.

This is a meaningful day to honour those who have lost their lives or been severely injured in road crashes, and to stand alongside the families, friends, and communities profoundly affected by these tragedies.

It is also an opportunity to acknowledge the essential role of emergency responders—police, paramedics, and fire and rescue teams—who are often first on the scene, providing life-saving support and compassion to victims and families in their most critical moments.

Originally established in 1993 by Brigitte Chaudhry, founder of RoadPeace, the World Day of Remembrance has grown into a global day of reflection, remembrance, and advocacy for road safety, recognised by countries worldwide.
