Making roads safer for…
Older drivers
Project summary
Led by Leeds Older People's Forum (LOPF), Driving Change Together worked closely with older people in Leeds to understand ‘what works’ to encourage older drivers to assess their driving ability as they age and consider safer alternatives whilst maintaining a social and independent life.
A partnership with older people, Leeds City Council’s Influencing Travel Behaviour Team, William Merritt Disability Living Centre, Public Health, and behavioural marketing experts, this project created and evaluated a coproduced behaviour change campaign to encourage people aged 60+ to consider their driving capabilities and to encourage them to try out alternative travel options.
