Project summary

The aim of the project was to find out what effect the introduction of cycling and walking has on perceived and actual levels of road safety for all road users.

Background and historic research was undertaken alongside a comprehensive literature review. Following this, quantitative and qualitative research was undertaken to gather actual road safety data and perceptions of it. Once analysed the data, was overlaid onto maps of Mini Holland infrastructure to assess whether its introduction had affected perceived and actual road safety.
