Project summary
The project developed a reporting sensor with synchronised video data to provide information about the location, traffic and nature of near-miss incidents for cyclists.
The tool was trialled on four cycling routes – cyclists uploaded video footage of the near miss incidents with the results analysed by the project team. The reporting system was designed to enable evaluation of interventions (such as Close Pass) and as an indicator of system safety.
