Results from safety test on UK cycle helmets revealed
A range of new safety tests have been undertaken on popular UK cycle helmets to help improve cyclists safety on the roads.

Road Safety Trust launches 2020 Grants Programme: funding available for road safety projects
Due to the ongoing COVID19 situation, we cannot run our grant-giving programme at the current time. This includes the Technology theme which opened for applications in February and is now suspended until further notice.
University of the West of England set to improve safety at side road junctions
The University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) has received £117,000 from the Road Safety Trust to undertake research to assist in the design development of side road crossings.
2020 main grants theme
As an independent grant giving Trust we are dedicated to making the UK’s roads the safest in the world. We focus on funding projects that protect vulnerable road users, in particular, young and older drivers, pedestrians, pedal cyclists and motorcyclists.

Priority funding themes for 2019 and 2020 announced
Following consultation with the sector, the theme chosen for this year is ‘Innovative traffic calming and provision for vulnerable road users’. For 2020 the theme will be ‘How can technology be used to reduce road offending and promote safe driving?’.
Survey response by theme
Between September and November 2018, we carried out an online consultation to find out what our stakeholders thought about the importance levels of a number of themes that had been identified as potential gaps by our Road Safety Initiatives Committee.
The Road Safety Trust showcase event
